A very enjoyable day. Fascinating to see the big cats get fed and hear the background stories of how they ended up at Vredenheim. The game drive was great fun with a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Jessica and Jeff the elands were highly entertaining as they followed us around looking to be fed. Overall great value and a fun experience. - David
we did a game drive on a trailer pulled by a tractor. The staff were very friendly and informative and provided us with a free bottle of wine per couple for our journey (or to take home), along with free a wine glass each to keep (unfortunately not engraved with the estate name). we were also given samples of local cheese and biltong, in a nice memento shopping style bag, depicting the name of the wine estate. we stopped along the way to meet and feed the Eland in the park, which was good fun (just watch out for the large male who can be a little persistent when it comes to feed). the feed was provided free of charge for each passenger. we then went on to view the big cats being fed. again, the keepers were very friendly and informative. we did not sample the tasting or restaurant, but we did stroll through the gardens, which are beautiful with great views, and would be ideal for special occasions. all in all, it was a great way to pass a few hours and is well worth a trip, particularly given the estates close proximity to cape town. - Dave
Booked the game drive and my partner and I were the only 2 people on the drive. It was amazing and the guide was brilliant and very patient, he ran through each animal with time and answered every question we asked him. Lovely bottle of wine and cheese to have on the drive as well. I would definatly recommend it as very lovely and amazing value for money with brilliant people - Chris
Our Family had an outstanding experience at Vredenheim. The Game Drive was top-notch and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. We were in awe with the Big Cats and the Guide was very entertaining, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions professionally. It was such a treat, thank you Vredenheim - we will be back. - Desiree
We had the most fabulous day. It was wonderful to see so many big cats in one place. Kayla who was guiding us through the feeding was very knowledgeable and entertaining. When we were at the leopard cage she was explaining how sneaky and dangerous they could be.....we could not see any leopard at that point....then when she threw the meat over the cage, it shot up and out of the grass....almost at our feet....and proved her point. We then went on our drive.....the staff at the ticket collection point were very organised and had our bags with different wine and then she agreed to try and make our lunch reservation.....we had asked on our booking form for lunch reservation but that was not picked up. The ladder up into the drawn waggon/bus was perhaps the only problem in the whole day.....it was not at all stable and was difficult to climb. Perhaps you could build a mounting block with proper steps and platform at the top to access the waggon. We all loved the old tractor. On the drive Kayla encouraged lots of questions and gave good explanations and she engaged with adults and children alike. We were given plenty of time to feed and interact with the deer and she made sure we could see all the different types and she pointed out the newly born fawns in their hiding spots. She showed us how to identify the "non obvious" differences between male and female zebra...it is nice to learn these tricks from people who really know about the animals. Afterwards we had lunch which was excellent and more of your lovely rose wine.....the staff in the restaurant were also excellent, bright & cheerful and the food was very good....we then walked around the gardens and returned to have another look at the big cats before leaving. All and all a most enjoyable day. Thank you. - Gerry
